Happy 5th Anniversary of Independence

Happy 5th Anniversary of Independence of KOSOVO to all around the world.

Safety first! The wingless aircraft.

Posted by flyingforkosovo On October - 15 - 2012

The plane that I’ve travelled on for so many hours through 5 continents crossing 3 oceans is now wing-less at El-Alaain Airport in Egypt awaiting its shipment to the port and then further on a ship to Europe. Although we’ve tried hard to fix the problem with the engine oil pressure for two months now, the N2807L still isn’t fit for flying. To dismantle this particular aircraft that I feel so close to has been the toughest decision to take as captain so far. Nonetheless, this is aviation and safety comes always first, regardless how difficult and expensive it is.

As usual, I’m constantly out of funds and I’m faced with extreme bureaucracy and high costs as this is a very unusual shipment. But I can’t leave N2807L behind. I have to bring the Independence Bird back home, to its people, in Kosova.  This aircraft never let me down. So will I stand beside him in hope that once in Europe we will get it fixed so it can return home via air, where it belongs.

I thank all the people who are supporting the mission Flying for Kosovo in these difficult times.

Shqip:

Po unë kurrë nuk do ta lija N2807L prapa.

Thank you Egypt

Out of all countries I visited during my mission in Africa, Egypt has been the most successful one. The media coverage has been outstanding. I could pass on the message of Kosovo people to all Egyptians and many others of Middle East. A lot of positive energy is transmitted to my by the people on the street who recognize and stop me for a chat. So many seems to be aware of the cause and they love it. I hope the new Egyptian government will respect the interpretation of the UN International Court of Justice and the will of its people by proceeding with the recognition of Republic of Kosovo.  Thank your People of Egypt.

Stuck in Egypt

Posted by flyingforkosovo On September - 30 - 2012

Due to engine problems, I’m stuck in northern coast of Egypt for 4 days now. The new engine that we installed 2 months ago in Sudan is not performing well despite of the numerous inspections and repairs conducted by authorised technicians . The maintenance and airport costs since the relaunch of the mission in July have been extremely high. I’m very thankful to the people in Kosova and diaspora for their donations so far but they are not covering up the cost of the mission. Our final milestone in Africa mission is to bring the aircraft back home safe. Although the accomplishment of Mission Africa  seems harder than we had initially planned, I absolutely believe that  together we will manage this task. I will keep on informed. Yours, James

James has had a very successful media coverage in Egypt. He has managed to pass on the message of people of Kosovo to the people of Egypt. The cooperation and the willingness of Egyptian media to stead out the message of the Mission Flying for Kosovo in support of the recognition of Kosova’s legit independence has been enormous.
